I have been using the netflix 3.1 plugin by Albert Banks to display my Netflix@home movies in my sidebar. I had the plugin set to display an image with link. Last month a problem developed. The image displayed was wrong for the top 3 movies @home and the same image was displayed in all 3 slots. Initially the links were still pointed to the correct movie, but later changed to the displayed image. Screen shots below.

On my About page the image display for @home and in queue both showed the wrong movie duplicated in all 3 slots. The movie displayed was not in my queue or at home.

Later the above displayed titles reversed themselves. About 48 hours later the display was back to normal showing the correct titles with links.

This problem has happened twice that I know of. Not a big deal. But since I rent mainly TV series, the displayed image shown is a generic “image not available” from Netflix for almost all of the TV series selections. This defeats the purpose of having an imaged displayed, so I have changed to text w/link only.
Strange thing is I have a netflix app on my Facebook page that does correctly show all images for selected titles.
I recently updated to WordPress 2.5 using the most recent nightly version of the K2 theme. Everything went smooth as usual. I small glitch, when I select a theme version to use, I initially get a fatal error when reloading due to my last.fm plugin. I just refresh the page and everyrhing works great from then on.
The new look of WordPress 2.5 is very cool and has some welcomed refined touches/changes/advancements.
I thought about doing a favorites page with some polls asking others favorites or opinions, but not now. I will just stick to single posts or adding to the About page for this little read blog.
Starting with my all-time favorite songs and groups.
Black Sabbath
Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin
These groups were local rock radio’s most popular when I was growing up in the late 70′s as a young teenager, at least in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Individual stand out favorites would be Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix, Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin. It is very difficult to pick only one or even two or three favorite songs. I rarely only listen to one song from these groups at a time. Two or three songs back-to-back works best in order to fully enjoy the experience.
I have been using WordPress for awhile with the K2 theme and I would say that these two together make a powerful combination that is easy to use. I have not had any real problems that I did not cause myself from experimenting. Of course everyone should BACK-UP their websites in case of problems.
The current version of WordPress is 2.3 and works great the K2 theme. I am currently using K2 revision 562. The most recent versions of K2 know give you that option to run WordPress widgets or K2 sidebar modules. Keeping up-to-date is easy with upgrade plugins. I use InstantUpgrade version 0.2 by Alex Günsche.
View a list of plugins I use to run this site or see it on an About page subpage.
Anyone interested in starting blog should definitely consider WordPress with K2.
I noticed a serious issue with the Jaiku badge that requires shockwave-flash. If the browser does not have the proper plugin the page rendering becomes extremely random. My sidebar was everywhere except on the right side. I removed the Jaiku badge from the previous post due to this problem. If the browser does not have the correct plugin there should just be a blank spot asking for or stating condition of plugin needed. This should not confuse the format to the point of making an unreadable page.
My main computer is a Mac. My main browser currently is Safari. I also use Firefox 2.0.0.7 and Flock 0.9.1.3. Occasionally, I use Camino 1.5.1 or Shiira 2.2.
I know a simple cure for me would be to make sure any and all browsers I use have up-to-date plugins. But what about the rest of the world? Not everyone is on top of updating.
I re-added a computer useage/owner subpage to the About page.
I have been an Apple computer user since the late 1970′s and an owner since the mid 1990′s. The first computer I used was an Apple II plus. I still own this computer, rescued from my mother’s garage. The first computer that I purchased for myself was an Apple Power Macintosh 7100/66 AV. I still own this. I guess I am starting a Mac collection museum.
What is the point? Does anyone really care if I’m awake or asleep?
Do I care what someone had for breakfast?
I have more interesting things to waste time on. Mini-blogging is a major time waste. If the post is not worth the time to actually write it out why bother.
I removed the sidebar Twitter and Jaiku modules. If there is still a need to follow me when I post to Twitter or Jaiku, I will still provide links. Maybe, I’ll just post once a month to these services just to stay remotely involved.
Jaiku
follow me on Jaiku
Twitter
There seems to be a lot of talk about how great Twitter is. What about Jaiku?
When it comes to web badges, I like simplicity. The basic Twitter web badge can display 1-20 updates. The simple Jaiku web badge only displays most recent update. The more advanced flash web badges for both are not bad for displaying updates with or without friends. They are just too busy for me.
Since Jaiku allows feeds from other services and is not hyped up like Twitter, I tend to prefer Jaiku.
I am still using WordPress v2.2.1, although 2.2.2 is available. I upgraded the K2 theme to beta revision 377 and I have the Disable WordPress Widgets plugin activated. Everything seems to be working.
Since the sidebar modules are not working within the K2 theme using WordPress 2.2.1 I am just going to use the WordPress widgets for now. I hope a future SVN of K2 will fix this problem. I am currently sticking with K2 version 0.9.6.
