Well, I finally had enough. No more procrastinating on getting fit and losing weight.

I have been doing Power 90 (not P90X) off and on for awhile but never really changed my diet. This equals no real change. I recently read The “The Dukan Diet” by Dr. Pierre Dukan. I like his very structured approach. I usually want to start new diet or exercise programs at the beginning of the week or the beginning of the month, maybe the middle. I was planned to start August 1st 2011. No more waiting and making excuses. Starting today July 28th 2011, Thursday.

Details and tracking will follow.

I have been a bit of a slacker when it comes to posting my book reading. Check my LibraryThing page for current and past books for 2011. I have been keeping LibraryThing up-to-date. I should get this blog current in a few days. Definitely a learning experience trying to read 52+ books this year and actually post simple reviews. Reading – no problem. Posting reviews – I failed. Maybe I can refocus the second half of 2011 and follow through.

I have been thinking about getting a refurbished iPod Nano 5th gen from the Apple Store. They were plentiful before last Christmas. Now they are hard to find, which makes sense since it is a previous model. I check the Apple Store periodically for availability on refurbished iPods.

Well, this morning, to my surprise, the Apple Store had an almost full selection of 5th gen iPod Nanos in the refurb section. Great, I thought, I can finally get one. I selected the color I wanted and clicked add to cart. Nothing happened. It turns out that in the minute or two I took to decide and process the order Apple sold out. I selected my second color choice and successfully added the iPod to my cart. Then I went to process my order and verify my credit card. In the less than a minute time that went by Apple sold out again. I wrongfully thought that if an item was in your cart that you had saved/allocated selected item until finish processing.

I will still continue to check availability. The hope of actually getting one is not good. I could try craigslist, but that is too iffy.

I have used the K2 WordPress theme since around version 0.9 with WordPress 1.5.
I usually try to use the most current nightly version. Occasionally, I found the nightly versions did’t work well immediately with whatever WordPress version was current at the time of the K2 nightly release but with dedication from the K2 developers everything worked out eventually. All I had to do is use a previous version (revert) from the WordPress selection menu until issues were fixed. I kept 4 to 5 sequential K2 nightly releases in my WordPress themes folder. I even used ‘bleeding edge’ WordPress releases from time to time and K2 worked.

K2 nightly version is currently at 1.1 revision 1144 from 8/24/10. This is the version I am currently using.

Recently, I read on their support forum that it appears the K2 development has ended. That is too bad. K2 has always been ahead of the curve when it came to features and usability. WordPress 3.0 has some similar features for ease of use that K2 implemented awhile back.

Times have changed. User demands change as WordPress and more are developed. Thanks to the hard work all the K2 developers put in the past years.
